"The Old Creamery" on Historical Main Street

The "Old Creamery" building is one of the most historical buildings in town.
It functioned as a cooperative creamery business for the local dairy farmers for over 100 years.
Future home of the History Museum, this venue will provide the perfect location for history buffs and newbies alike to travel into the past to learn about the rich history of the midwest.

Sinclair Lewis Boyhood Home

Sinclair Lewis's Boyhood Home is located right here in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Preserved throughout the years, this historical site is maintained and cared for by the Sinclair Lewis Foundation.
Tours are available to the public. Groups can contact 320-352-5359 for available times and tour options.
​The home is under going renovations in 2021 and is not open for tours.
​Donations are accepted to assist in the preservation of this piece of our past.

The Palmer House Hotel

Built on the ashes of the "Sauk Centre House" hotel in 1901, the Palmer House is known around the United States as one of the most historical hotels in the US.
This building has stood for over 100 years housing travelers for both rest, food and drink.
Tours are available from the current owners and its history can be explored in the museum.

Original Main Street

There is only one place on earth that has the right to claim their Main Street as the Original.
Sauk Centre's Original Main Street is the only one of it's kind on the National Registry of Historical Sites.
The United States has acknowledged Sauk Centre's claim to this title from Sinclair Lewis's best selling novel, "Main Street."
