Preserved throughout the years, this historical site has been maintained and cared for by the Sinclair Lewis Foundation. As of
August 1, 2026 the Sauk Centre Historical Society has taken on the responsibility of taking care of the Boyhood Home.
Built on the ashes of the Sauk Centre House Hotel in 1901, the Palmer House is known as one of the most historic hotels in the United States.
This building has stood for over 100 years providing travelers lodging, food and drink.
